  • VetActiv8 Joint Care MediStrength uses a pure turmeric extract taken directly from the turmeric plant (Curcuma longa) matrix to harness the powerful phytoactive constituents without the need for chemical manipulation. This process allows seven types of curcuminoids to be extracted from the plant, providing the full spectrum of benefits.  In traditional medicine, turmeric has been used to treat skin and hair conditions, allergies, to enhance the immune system, and to help wound healing. Modern day research further reveals a number of other pharmacological benefits of turmeric, including possessing anti-microbial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties.​

    VetActiv8 Joint Care is designed for dogs with severe arthritic symptoms, tumours, and chronic inflammation. Studies have shown that curcumin is so effective as an anti-inflammatory that it can outperform the drug Ibuprofen.

    The liquid formula is best administered using an oral syringe, squirting the liquid between the dog's cheek and gums, allowing for transmucosal absorption directly into the bloodstream. This by-passes the digestive tract, ensuring its full potency is received into the body. For dogs with severe pain and discomfort, this product can be used in conjunction with VetActiv8 Joint Health. 

    Curcuminoids are the major active constituents found in  turmeric that provide the powerful health benefits. The seven major constitutes of curcuminoids found in VetActiv8 Joint Care include:

    • Cyclo bis-demethoxycurcumin
    • Cyclocurcumin
    • Hydroxydihydrocurcumin derivative
    • Bis-demethoxycurcumin
    • Demethoxycurcumin

    Bis-demethoxycurcumin, demethoxycurcumin and curcumin have been determined to possess anti-inflammatory properties and cytotoxic effects in human cancer cells via induction of apoptosis, eliminating potentially cancerous and virus-infected cells and maintaining balance in the body.  It has been determined that these curcuminoids work synergistically together to ensure that each active constituent is most effectively utilised.

    Studies have shown that dehydro-turmerone derivative does not have anti-inflammatory properties itself but rather, works to significantly improve the absorption rate of the other curcuminoids into the cells of the body. 

    Cyclo bis-demethoxycurcumin has been determined to assist with anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer activities. Cyclocurcumin significantly inhibits contraction of vascular smooth muscle.  It has been demonstrated that it is highly bioavailable and may have a therapeutic potential as an anti-vasoconstrictive compound.
